Dr. Nechi Ezeako is a Lawyer, Chartered Secretary and Administrator, authorized Corporate Governance and Board Leadership trainer, certified Company Secretary trainer, Advanced Anti-Corruption and Ethics Compliance trainer, Ethics 1st trainer, Board Evaluator, Member, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom, Member, Institute of Directors, Nigeria, Fellow, Chartered Governance Institute, United Kingdom, and CEDR Accredited Mediator with over 30 years of experience in the consulting, financial services, manufacturing, real estate, and not-for-profit sectors. She holds, among others, a Master of Science (Distinction) degree in Corporate Governance from the Leeds Metropolitan (now Leeds Beckett) University, United Kingdom, and is an Alumnus of the Executive Leadership High Achievement and the Lagos Business School Senior Management programs. For over a decade, Ezeako served as Group Company Secretary and Legal Adviser of FinBank Plc, then a public-quoted financial institution (now part of FCMB). After that, as CEO, EL-Values Advisory, a Management Consulting and Legal Services firm founded by her, she led project teams with responsibility for various corporate governance initiatives, including framework and policy development, evaluation, automation, and internalization for public and private sector organizations. In her subsequent roles as Executive Director, Institute of Directors, Nigeria (IoD) and the Executive Director/CEO of IoD Centre for Corporate Governance, she led the development and delivery of bespoke services and offerings, training of directors and leaders of major corporations, SMEs and public sector institutions on corporate governance and public sector governance as well as anti-corruption and ethics compliance.

Ezeako has written and continues to write peer-reviewed articles published in various local and international professional journals and other media. She is a trainer and facilitator with participation at major conferences and workshops across twenty-five countries on five continents.

Ezeako served as a member of the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) Panel of Experts and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Corporate Governance Working Group (CGWG), which developed the Corporate Governance Codes for Private Universities in Nigeria and the Nigerian Telecommunications sector, respectively.

She currently serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Institute of Directors Nigeria Directors Development Committee and as a member of the ICSAN Board of Mentors, and was previously:

Ezeako has received awards, locally and overseas and has been recognized by industry and her peers variously, including as recipient of the Africa Business Integrity Network (ABIN) (2022) Recognition, the Nigerian Law School Class of 85 30th Anniversary Excellence Award (2015), Deloitte West & Central Africa (2013) International Women’s Day (IWD) Role Model, and JCI (2020) International Women’s Day Guest Speaker, ICSAN Lagos Corporate Governance Excellence Award (2006), among others. She is currently the CEO of EL-Values Advisory, and Co-CEO, ELAMO LP and considers raising her four adult children to be her greatest fulfillment.
